Looking for legal advice for a father being denied visitation. What can I do,if I cant afford a lawyer?

I would suggest that you look for a parent's rights advocacy group. Particularly one that works with fathers, they may be able to assist you with the legal process and help you find representation. Many attorneys do ';Pro Bono'; work for those individuals that are financially unable to secure counsel.

First I would try a Google search for ';father's rights'; and your state. Example: Father's Rights New York

After that you can try sites like www.themenscenter.com

Good luck - this sounds like a horrible situation for you and your whole family.Looking for legal advice for a father being denied visitation. What can I do,if I cant afford a lawyer?
Call the clerk of court for whatever court in your county that hears family law issues (in the event the father and child reside in different places, it will have to go through the court where the child resides), and ask them if they can direct you to any free or income-based legal assistance in your area.Looking for legal advice for a father being denied visitation. Some counties offer free family law advice, check with the courts in the county the case was filed.
For my son, the place where he pay his child support has a system that will work with him to get visitation rights. Try them.
You don't need a lawyer. If the court ordered visitation, and your ex is not following the terms of the court order, all you have to do is petition the court. Call the court administrator. Your ex is in contempt of the court order.

If the Judge denied visitation, you'd better start saving your money for an attorney.
Do you have the paperwork where your visitation schedule spelled out? If you do, contact the Police Department and have an officer go with you to pick up your child at your scheduled day %26amp; time. If your ex is not home or refuses to allow you to have your visit, have the officer make out a report on it. If he can't, some can't, get his/her card and keep it. Do this over and over until you have either worn her down or piss her off enough to take you to court over this. If she takes you to court, she pays. Presnet your evidence to the judge and watch her squirm.
Unless this legal issue is worthless to you, you cannot afford NOT to hire a lawyer. Legal work is like surgery, not for the do it yourselfer. Unless you are totally destitute (no job, living on the street) most legal aid groups will charge you. Lawyers do not get food, rent, utilities or gas for free, like you we expect to get paid for our work.
check into your community and find the free lawyers. Most places have lawyers for low income people.
