Can anyone help me PLEASE Legal Advice?

I'm trying to help someone out but have no clue .anyone know where I can go on the internet and find a legal document to fill out and print to take to a court for an emergency child custody hearing? The type of document that you need to take to a judge to schedule a hearing to regain custody of children ??? She spoke to a lawyer and he told her she could do this on her own. and could save almost a grand if she was able to get a copy of this and present it to a judge on her own ... hence saving the money of aquiring a lawyer. Can anyone help me PLEASE Legal Advice?
My advice is to speak to a lawyer and the best, most inexpensive way to do this is through Pre-Paid Legal Services. For more information visit the website below, and feel free to contact me through that site if you have further questions on how this service may be able to help you. I encourage you to find out what your rights and options are in this situation. If you sign up today you can ask your question tomorrow.

I wish you the best of luck.

depends what state you are in for example Michigan has the friend of the court. all you need to do is go to the court house and they do the rest for you. You may want to see if they have a child suport recovery dept. they too will get things going. Oe just go to the court house the ladys there will help you. you have to file.make a court date send a notice . they will help its all done there just tell them you wnat to do it your self
Go to the court where the petition will be heard. They will give you the correct paperwork to fill out, and may also provide free legal advice, if you require. I just finished doing the exact same thing. P.S. Where are you?
Koolcat is exactly right.
It depends on the jurisdiction. When asking legal questions it really helps to say where you are.

If there really is an emergency, pay the grand and get a lawyer to do it.

The types of emergency in child custody cases can have dire consequences (such as a child being removed from the jurisdiction, never to be seen again)
You can go to the courthouse and they have all the forms you need also that you can fill out on you own.

You don't need to prepare this document in a legal form. Just write a letter and be polite to the judge. The court will honor this letter. Once received, the court will order you to do additional things, like having it notarized, for your document to conform to the legal requirements. However, this ordinary letter can start the proceedings.
